A Lesson in Winter Layering

The trick with layering is to gain the benefits of warmth whilst looking effortless and stylish. Rather than stacking on a huge down-filled coat, there’s actually ways you can stay as warm in something that looks more trendy and tailored. It's known that adding layers of garments to an outfit will provide you with good insulation since it helps block the wind chill from your body.

Being stylish doesn’t just mean piling on all your clothes and accessories. It should look effortless and feel comfortable in any setting, all at the same time.

You can truly beat the cold by learning the art of layering. Remember the aim is to keep both warm and stylish by creating an outfit where you look good, feel protected, and remain comfortable. We take inspiration from the John Lewis November Edit which pays homage to winter layering, “Winter Layers is all about combining multiple different textured layers; waistcoats over fitted shirts paired with oversized coats on chunky knits. The overall effect is low key, slouchy yet dapper – the ultimate in this winter's masculine, outdoor style. For this trend, more is most certainly more. The colour palette is predominantly neutral; browns and greys combined with the occasional darker coloured hue.”
