Is It Ever Too late For The Perfect Smile?

Most people believe that braces are only for teenagers, but improving your smile has become increasingly popular amongst men. If you’re tired of a crooked smile, there are plenty of options available on the market such as invisalign London. Good teeth can improve your self-confidence and correct teeth alignment can assist your oral health. Getting braces as a man may be intimidating but in the long run if you want straight teeth, the cost and the cons will be worth it. Celebrities such as Tom Cruise, and Nicholas Cage wore braces as adults whereas in opposition the likes of J. Cole and Jamie Oliver have chosen to embrace a crooked smile.

The NHS reports that nearly 1 million people in the UK started orthodontic treatment last year and more adults than ever before want the treatment. Braces aren’t for everyone of course, but if you’re considering it, here are a few different options available.

Six-Month Smiles

This is a speedier option in comparison to traditional braces. Six-Month braces are used for cosmetic purposes and focus on the front teeth. The term 6 month smiles, is just a guideline and dentists state that treatment can take between 4-9 months dependent on the individual.

Invisalign

Invisalign is a modern invention. Invisalign straightens teeth using a series of nearly invisible, removable aligners that are custom-made for your teeth. As you replace each aligner, your teeth will move gradually move towards the final position. Cons of invisalign include the possibility of a lisp (whilst wearing them), and the treatment can take longer than traditional braces. Pro’s are the fact that no one can really tell you are wearing them. There are plenty of differences between traditional braces and invisalign. Clear aligners, like Invisalign, are typically more convenient than traditional braces and they are easier to manage. Lingual Braces

According to best orthodontist London Lingual Braces are usually the priciest option because these are braces that are fitted behind the teeth, meaning they aren’t visible from the outside. They work just like traditional braces meaning you can expect a great final result.

Ceramic Braces

‘Invisible Braces’ are one of the most common options, they are not invisible as such, but they are less obvious than traditional metal braces. They are the same size and shape except that they have tooth-coloured or clear brackets that blend in to teeth. Some even use tooth-coloured wires to be even less noticeable.

Traditional Braces

Traditional braces are a great option if you are more concerned about a perfect result and your oral health. They will straighten your teeth and arguably give you the best result but it will take longer than the 6-Month option. Your time frame will more likely be between 12-18 months. When the treatment is finished, all teeth including the back teeth will have been straightened and your teeth will be better aligned.
